From the very beginning, I’ve been so in awe of these two. Their engagement session at the San Luis Obispo airport capture their love for each other and their passion in aviation. Their wedding day captured their love again, but also how they love others. Their family and friends mean the world to them. How they love their people is so beautiful, real and genuine.
Cayucos holds so much meaning for Shanna and her family. A place woven into generations, filled with memories, and now forever holding this chapter of their story. It felt only fitting that their wedding day would take place here, by the ocean in this sweet sleepy beach town, surrounded by the people who mean the most to them. Shanna’s grandparents have kept this beautiful beach house for decayeds. The girls got ready there, while the guys were in the house next door. It was quite cute. The time getting ready was filled with the sweetest gift exchanges. There were tears, laughter, and so much love shared between them and their families. Shanna also wore family jewelry, and alongside her own ring and her mother’s, they documented four generations of marriage—over a century of love represented in one moment.
Their ceremony took place beneath this amazing driftwood arbor, lovingly built by Shanna’s dad using pieces collected from the nearby San Simeon beaches (a continuation of a family tradition that makes it all the more meaningful). The ceremony was officiated by Shanna’s godmother. It was intimate, personal, and so full of heart. Moments celebrating their story, their faith, and their families.
And on my goodness, the design! Shanna absolutely brought a stunning vision to life. Deep teal tones layered with tropical florals in vibrant pinks and oranges, textures that felt both coastal and bold, and Eric’s suit tying it all together in the most perfect shade of teal green. Every detail was exquisite. It was a stunning day.
As the sun set, the celebration shifted into one of the most epic dance party. Joy filled that dance floor, everyone fully in it, completely celebrating these two. And to end the night, they drove away in a vintage tiki car. It was the perfect send-off for a day that was equal parts meaningful, joyful, and unforgettable.
Shanna + Eric, I adore the way you love. The intention, the joy, the deep care you have for your people… it’s something truly special. Thank you for letting me witness and document this part of your story. Here is to airplanes, adventure and all the dreams that come to life! xoxo
