Pismo Beach Holiday Mini Photo Session

It’s the season again, and I’ve realized I haven’t shared many of the family photo session that took place last year. This family of five has a special place in my heart — I photographed Mom and Dad say their “I Do’s” eight years ago at Santa Margarita Ranch, just a couple minutes away from SLO. Their’s was one of the first weddings after our big move from Colorado to Pismo Beach. Being their photographer over the years as they’ve grown and gained the cutiest babes has been such an honor and blessing. As their littles ones have grown, seeing their personalities shine has been so fun.

Photographing families with small kiddos is always a magical chaos of beauty and fun. You can have stand off kiddos, energetic kiddos, cuddly kiddos who just wants their parent, and kiddos who become so comfortable they are ready to take on the world. I work at making our sessions a place that feels fun and safe, and allows for a lot of space for exploring and enjoying being together. It often takes a hot minute for the ice to break, but during this session, the ice melted pretty dang fast, and ended with the eldest giving me multiple hugs when we said our goodbyes (ugh! Melted my heart completely!).
