It’s no surprise I have a sweet spot when it comes to Oyster Ridge weddings—but this one was extra sweet. Over the last couple years, I’ve had the privilege of getting to know John during a couple work trips I’ve joined Brian for. He is clever, passionate, talented at what he does and just an all around stand up guy. I’m grateful for the friendship he and Brian have made, and even more grateful for the woman who has walked into his life and captured his heart.

The first couple times I got to ask John about her, his expression and tone completely changed. Totally smitten, you instantly saw how much he admired her. Upon meeting her, it was no surprise. The same way John lights up when Kristen becomes the topic of conversation is a pure reflection of who she is as a woman and how she instantly lights up a room when she enters. She is beyond anything we could have pictured as a partner to John, and the two of them as a unit are unstoppable. There is so much laughter and joy that comes out of the two of them, yet in the way they embrace and care about one another, it’s something that makes your heart quite full. Their relationship is absolutely beautiful.

So not only was I their wedding photographer, I also got to act as the Best Man’s plus one ::wink wink::. John and Kristen chose to get married on February 29th (I love it. I think this means they get to celebrate anniversaries to the extreme) and even though the vineyards are bare during this time of year, the views of those rolling hills dabbled with Oak Trees do not disappoint. The day was absolutely beautiful. And the team I was able to work along side was top notch.

John + Kristen — firstly, thanks for finding each other. It’s been such a blessing to be able to watch the two of you walk into this new season and we are overjoyed for you both. Grateful life brought the two of you into ours, and we’re excited for what the future holds.
