Krisstin and I met a lil over a year ago after we both relocated to the SLO area. She too is a photographer and by day she is an archeologist. My facial reaction to her telling me that… I can only imagine what she thought of me at that moment. I honestly think she has one of the coolest jobs. ever. I never once want my kids to feel pressure to be some certain career from Brian or I, but really, if they wanted to be an archeologist, I would be that mom with all the shirts, bumper stickers and show up during their work hours just to watch them. Any who… Krisstin is pretty rad. She and Cole have been together for about a year. And of course, no surprise, he too has pretty awesome interests. He trains as an MMA fighter. Really? Like the next day he was hopping a flight to Hawaii for a black belt competition. Truly, a pretty epic couple right here. Completely down to earth and so much fun to be around.
Krisstin messaged me about a month ago expressing how she just wants one nice, natural, honest photo of she and Cole together – of course I was happy to do that. However, I pushed it to the next level and asked if they wanted to go play and explore a lil, while I photographed it. As you know, I am not a fan of posing and I’d rather document a story instead of cut and dry smiles. We began at Pirates Cove, scaling a rock face to get to a cave and ended at Pismo Beach for sunset just below Seacrest. Here are a few of my favorites from their session.
