Brett and Jesse celebrated their union amidst the natural splendor of Estes Park, Colorado. Their wedding day was just the beginning of a weekend celebration that will be hard to forget. With an elegant and natural ceremony at one of my favorite venues of all the world, Della Terra Chateau, they set the stage for a remarkable Day After Session in the breathtaking Rocky Mountain National Park, located just minutes from the Chateau. And as their wedding photographer, I had the privilege of capturing their love story, frame by frame, as they set off on an extraordinary post-wedding adventure.
To change up a bit of her looks from the wedding day, Brett wore a magnificent flower crown created by Lace and Lillies, accentuating her radiant beauty in a lace Maggie Sottero bridal gown she wore the day before, and Jesse looked dashing in his tailored blue Indochino suit. Although the weather proved to be more overcast than anticipated, Brett and Jesse embraced the atmospheric mood with grace and enthusiasm (and a lot of giggles). Determined to capture the ethereal essence of the mountains, we set off in search of epic locations throughout the park.
Our journey led us to the summit of a scenic trail, where we hoped to rise above the clouds and capture panoramic views that leaves anyone in awe. Alas, nature had other plans. Trail remained covered in a misty veil. Undeterred, we ventured onward, braving the extremely bitter wind to capture moments of candid love amidst the mystical surroundings. Brett was frozen, my fingers slowing feeling the same way against my metal camera. Just as we began to resign ourselves to the clouds’ persistence, a miraculous sight unfolded before our eyes. As if on cue, the clouds parted, unveiling a breathtaking vista that stretched across the valley. It was beautiful. A moment that took our breath away.
Brett and Jesse’s love, illuminated by the warm rays of sunlight, radiated with an intensity that matched the grandeur of the surroundings in that moment. This Day After Session serves as a testament to the power of love and the breathtaking spirit of adventure. Their willingness to embrace the unexpected and find beauty in every moment created an experience that will forever be etched in their hearts (as well as mine). I wish everyone could experience moments like these.
