All the way from Texas and never having stepped foot on Catalina Island before—Caitlin + Spencer’s elopement was perfectly and effortlessly them. No timelines, no fluff, and a morning full of gorgeous views, a quick ceremony, and venturing around Avalon to capture the two of them all done up and dapper, and so in love.
Given they hadn’t been to the island before, it was a lot of fun to also play mini tour guide. Brian (my husband) officiated their ceremony, Caitlin’s good friend came to help assist in Caitlin getting ready, and Caitlin’s folks were not about to let this elopement happen without them present. We had two golf carts and toured around town, sharing some of our favorite spots with them.
It’s no surprise Brian and I dream often of making this island our home; I don’t know if it’s being able to work and photograph people’s stories and love in this place that alleviates that itch… or really, makes that dream even more desired. It was such an immense joy to be able to spend the morning with them and to be a little part of their story. Their photos fill my heart so.
Caitlin + Spencer—I’m so grateful you found each other and that you had the crazy desire to get married in this beautiful place. Thanks for letting us tag along and be a part of your wedding day! Also, I can think of a really great place to celebrate your one year anniversary. xoxo
