I absolutely adore these two. When wedding couples turn friends, it just makes the world a better place. They were celebrating Christmas quarantine style in Pismo and we did a mini photo session at a local nature trail I had just stumbled upon recently. They were after trees and a forest feel, which felt extra cozy knowing it was going to be Christmas in just a couple days.
Photographing during the pandemic is different. I like to get up close and personal during my time photographing my couples—it helps break the ice more and get’s them more familiar with my presence, allowing their naturalness to flow while I get to create imagery I love. Now with having to keep a barrier between the the two of us (hello minimum of 6 feet), and with a mask covering my smile and slightly muffling my words of encouragement during our time shooting, it’s been an interesting practice and exercise for me. BUT, I can say with so much pride that my clients don’t skip a beat—and it’s completely true with these two.
Mackenzie and Neal — I can’t believe we are coming up to one and a half years since your Paso Robles Wedding! I am so grateful for the two of you and for every time you walk in front of my lens—getting to spend time with you is like a breath of fresh air. Here is to 2021 and all that life brings your way! Cheers + love, —a.
