A couple years ago I was honored to photograph two beautiful souls, Kendra and Kevin, in gorgeous Boulder, Colorado. Just like every wedding, you become aquatinted with all the family and friends. Kevin’s sister, Sheri, had recently started dating this guy named Chad. At one point someone tapped me on the shoulder during the reception and asked if I could take the photograph this new couple. Little did I know we would fast forward a couple years later and I would once again be surrounded by this same sweet family. But this time, I am documenting Sheri and Chad say “I do” for their Cabo San Lucas Wedding.
Sheri and Chad had decided on a destination wedding in beautiful Cabo San Lucas, a place that has become very meaningful to them in their relationship. Neither Brian nor I had ever been before, but it quickly became a place we will return to again and again. The white and pink sand, the gorgeous blue water, the dry heat, and the fact it is really so close to us! I have said again and again that destination weddings are my favorite – it’s what Brian and I did for our wedding. But the thing I really love the most about them, is the bond that is made between everyone invited. You spend more time with all the guests than a typical wedding – and you also get to do really cool things together.
Brian and I, even as being their “vendor” was invited to join them on a boat/scuba cruise and it was such a blast! Our couples have a sweetest and coolest groups of people that surround them; Sheri and Chad’s were no different. We quickly came to love each person that day and honestly it was so hard to leave them three days later.
Sheri and Chad’s wedding day was so relaxing. Sheri hired a local yoga instructor who came and did a sunrise yoga session for she and her girls. I walked on the beach as the sun was illuminated the furthest point and could have stayed in that one place for hours. The ocean waves were crashing so hard, even though the water was so calm, sting rays were flying out of the water (did you know they did that!?! Me neither till this trip!), and all was beautiful in the world. The day continued in that format. Their intimate ceremony was on the same beach later that afternoon. I still get goosebumps looking back on their ceremony. Here are a few photos from their wedding that I absolutely love. Sheri + Chad – thank you so much again for letting us come be apart of your wedding. We love you guys. xoxo
