Cal Poly’s Experience Industry Management (EIM) program recently hosted a beautiful fundraiser event at The White Barn in San Luis Obispo, and I had the honor of documenting the evening. Its one of the leading programs of its kind, EIM equips students to create meaningful experiences in hospitality, events, and recreation — something that is a cornerstone here on the Central Coast. This night brought together alumni, faculty, students, families, and community members to celebrate the program’s impact and to raise funds for its continued growth.
The event design was led by Brooke Campbell Drehsen of Brooke Nichole Events, a Cal Poly alum herself and is one of the top wedding and event planners in the area. Having come through the EIM program, Brooke brought her signature impeccable taste and creativity to the evening. Her thoughtful approach to design transformed The White Barn into an elegant backdrop for connection, conversation, and celebration. Photographing her work is always a joy, and this evening was no exception.
Guests enjoyed a welcoming atmosphere that perfectly reflected the heart of the program. From alumni reconnecting with old classmates, to families learning more about the department, to local leaders showing their support, every detail of the event spoke to the strong community that surrounds Cal Poly. The evening was not only visually stunning but also a meaningful success in furthering the mission of the EIM department.
Being part of this event reminded me how much San Luis Obispo thrives on its connections. Living in such a small town with a tapestry of people who love and serve well. It was such a privilege to provide imagery for the EIM department to use in celebrating the success of the evening and in sharing their story with a wider audience. Events like this showcase the heart behind Cal Poly and the many ways its programs continue to inspire.
