Here is to the moments that take our breath away. To the giddy, unbelievable surprises. To a ring more beautiful than imagined. To a partner who ardently cares for and cherishes you, and made sure all the important people knew. To asking all the questions and getting teary eyed at all the answers. To being so blissfully in disbelief and ecstatic for what lies in store for this next season. To wrapping your arms around your person and being so immensely grateful that they are the one who you get to build this life with.

While they were staying at the Zane Grey (which is just around the corner from this epic spot), I arrived to Lee’s Scenic Overlook to set the scene with a blanket, flowers and candles. They “took a little stroll before heading into town for dinner” so they could checkout the views from the overlook. She had a hunch something was gonna happen, but as these surprise proposals on Catalina Island always go, the moment still takes your breath away.

Trevor and Annalise have one of the sweetest relationships. Paying witness to these moments are never lost of me. What is extra beautiful with these proposals on Catalina is the downtime between us taking photos around Avalon. After the proposal, we jump in the golf cart, they cuddle up on the back seat, and then begins all the questions: when did you buy the ring, when did you know you wanted to marry me, do my parents know, where should we get married? The laughter, giggles and sweet tears that arise with every answer gets me every time. It is such a sweet thing. And I love honoring my couples with helping give space for this, on and off the golf cart. While every photographer loves taking photos of couples on such a joyous high, I adore helping make the evening more about them and their relationship and dreams… that’s my priority. I just get to capture the moments along the way.

Trevor and Annalise, you two are absolutely made for each other. I am beyond thrilled for this new chapter of your lives. And I love that Catalina will always hold this memory for you and it’s such a beautiful place to return to year after year after year. Sending you both so much love and cheers to you!
