Sometime in the afternoon (literally that phrase was on the formal wedding invites) five years ago today, this guy made me his wife. I can’t tell you how big my smile is right now.
We had a five-year plan. Within that five-year plan we were going to accomplish: Brian obtaining his masters, the photography business being a rock star, and owning a rather large dog. On anniversary five we were going to be: starting to think about having kids and we would be traveling around the world in celebration of that master’s degree right now.
We got knocked up a month after we got married… this. changed. everything. Nonetheless, I am amazed at what we have accomplished, gone through, experienced and done. We have lived in 3 different states (Alaska, California, Colorado), we still own Ruf (our jeep), we don’t have that dog but we have two beautiful-silly-ridiculously-amazing kids. You are still going to school while working full-time and I am presently shocked on how much photography has survived, grown and matured during these past five years with kids in tow. We bought a house and became a suburban family. We’ve experienced heartache and pain with pulling for Emery’s survival yet during it all we still continued to grow and fall in love more with each other. You amaze me, Brian Patrick – and I am head over heals in love with you. I could not have asked for anything more. Thank you for making me your wife on that fine summer day.
