Elopements kind of rock my world — especially when the Bride and Groom choose one of the most stunning locations in the Rockies. There were only five of us there total that day, which meant one photographer zipped the dress, the other placed the shoes on, and the officiant pinned the boutonniere. Michelle and Mike brought everything with them from Missouri. I was floored by how crafty Michelle is! That stunning bouquet? It happens to be silk flowers that she put together. There were so many details that were part of this afternoon — from her shoes, the gorgeous hanger, his boutonniere and everything in between — there was not one area that was without.
But the thing I love most about elopements – it is purely about them, about husband and wife. About the “I Do’s.” About this inspiring love and commitment without frills or stress. It is pure intimacy to the finest and for some amazing reason, I get to be one who witness every moment of it. It’s like a secret that is so precious and I feel beyond blessed that I get to experience it. In the short amount of time I was with Michelle and Mike, we had more time to photograph just the two of them than any other wedding I have been a part of. The sky also gave us a show throughout our afternoon together (so gorgeous!). Give me a couple who will stand in the pouring rain and my world explodes with joy.
