The winter light is a bit different here. It’s cozier, hazier, and puts off a different kind of magic. The golden grass covering the hill and us warmly being surrounded by a family of horses, Kristen + Javier’s photo session was dreamy. And the way the wind was wild and constantly dancing around us, it was stunning.
Small quiet wedding ceremonies, some originally unplanned, were the norm for 2020. Many with dreams of larger weddings, taking place across borders and oceans, where all family and friends get to come together. And the beauty of it all, in the in-betweens of dreams and living, is the abundance of love that fills in all the cracks between.
Finding your person is no small feat. Realizing you were growing up on opposite sides of the globe is mind-boggling. And as the years would press on, you would find each other. Lock eyes. Give a smile. And begin a new journey that you thank the heavens has brought you to.
As difficult and trying the last year and some have been, the thing I keep going back to is the beautiful parts of humanity that show through the cracks. What was shaken up throughout the entire world has created some intimate, precious connections and realizations that we will carry with us through the rest of our lives.
Humanity. The frailty. The raw honestness. The brokenness. An innate desire to be loved, seen and known. To feel warmth. To be touched. To belong.

These are the reasons I love being a photographer of people. Capturing the quiet moments. The in-betweens. Freezing for a split second, showing your emotion and connection to this world, to feel human, and to remind you are loved.

This session held so much goodness, every moment working with Kristen and Javier was a blessing. All the magic that came out of this session still lingers in my mind almost twelve months since it took place. The sweetness that is these two, the gentle and pure grace that flows from them is so beautiful.
