Last year Patrick surprised Katie with one epic surprise proposal at Spooners Cove (if you haven’t checked it out yet, you’re gonna wanna take a moment to). The time spent having these two back in front of my camera was like seeing old friends; catching up on all the happenings of the past year and what they are most looking forward to next year as their wedding approaches. It always feels so magical how quickly photography clients melt into that stage of comfort and trust; when it’s a repeat couple, ones who I’ve photographed before, it’s like a celebration and always is so much fun.
Patrick grew up in the area and the two were coming back in the area to celebrate two other recently engaged friends! While they were in town, we planned their engagement session in a location that would allow us to capture that gorgeous California golden glow within majestic oaks and sycamore trees, as well as show off the gorgeous golden rolling hills surrounding this area. At sunset, the hills and views surrounding Bishops Peak, overlooking Cal Poly to the Northwest and then to the South towards Cerro San Luis (aka Madonna Hill) are absolutely stunning. Add these two with all their giggles, love and joy—the images feel so effortless and enchanting.
Katie + Patrick—I adore you guys! And next year is going to be so amazing. Thanks for letting me tag along to continue photographing your story. Cheers to you both!
