Reminiscing back on Vi + Mike’s Hard Rock Punta Cana destination wedding instantly brings about smiles and slightly stargazed eyes. Of course the backdrop itself was stunning – that glass blue water, coconut trees kissing the sky, and the tropical breezes – but I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect setting for their wedding. To be honest, the views had no comparison to the friends and family that surrounded them that day; the love, joy and support that have walked along side and intertwined their stories with them since they first met in high school made this celebration so sweet.

This is the second time I have photographed a wedding in Punta Cana, and it is a destination I will always be willing to return back to. Vi + Mike are friends with a past couple of mine turned good friends as well, who had a destination wedding in Cabo San Lucas last year. When I was in Colorado for Thanksgiving, we were able to photograph Vi + Mike’s engagement session (go check it out if you haven’t yet!). As you all know, destination weddings have a big part of my heart as that is what Brian and I did. With destination weddings, the wedding day turns into a wedding week and it is surrounded with so many more moments to remember forever. The company that chooses to come celebrate with you feels just a tad more sweet. More stories flow and are shared, reminiscing on the journey that brought the couple to this point. Tears, smiles, laughter are constant and so many cheers! I honestly think all wedding days should be wedding weeks.

Vi + Mike did it right. And it was a pure honor to be there, witnessing so many memorable moments. I got teary eyed more than once on their wedding day – and I know most of us did. The love these two share is mesmerizing! I loved their wedding day. And thanks to my sweet friend, Laura, for coming and being apart of the day as well!
